May 12, 2000
See Baxley=s Southern Party/Current documents/Madison Cook Ltr 1.wpd This is a letter from Vance Beaudreau to Madison Cook requesting a meeting of several of the leaders resisting the dictatorship of Jerry Baxley to discuss a Southern Confederation Party which would promote a State=s Rights Constitution. Many promises were made by Madison in phone calls to Dennis Joyce, but no meeting resulted. The issue was being avoided.
May 27, 2000
A letter was written by Vance Beaudreau to Dennis Joyce, Mike Crane and Madison Cook showing the legitimacy of the Chairman of the SNC to adopt a Constitution other than the Baxley Constitution of Jan 7, 2000. Both the Baxley Constitution and the Re-Unification Agreement fail to prohibit such. Therefore, it was asked of Madison Cook to use his power and adopt the new State=s Rights Constitution, especially since it was likely that Madison would be thrown out at the National Convention anyhow by Baxley. See E-mail sent by Vance Beaudreau to Mike Crane, Madison Cook and Dennis Joyce, subject: Southern Party Constitution and By-Laws Committee, dated 5-27-00.
May 30, 2000
Sometime during May, the Texas Web master John Poole II (on the executive committee of the Southern Party of Texas) began being also the Web master for Tennessee. Subversion then began by Poole against the Southern Party of Texas leadership and plans for the May 6 2000 Constitution. Apparently Madison Cook was influencing Poole and Patrick Leslie against us.
Formal request for Madison Cook to adopt the May 6, 2000 Constitution via E-Mail sent by Vance Beaudreau to Mike Crane, Madison Cook, Steve Brown, John Poole II, Dennis Joyce, Carol Edwards and Robert Baker, subject: Adoption of May 6, 2000 Southern Party Constitution on May 30, 2000.

June 30, 2000
Texas does not attend the Baxley Southern Party Convention in Charleston, S. Car. because we learned that our delegates would not be seated, being illegally prevented. Thus Jerry Baxley avoided the new Constitution. The Southern Party of Texas was disaffiliated with the Baxley Southern Party by illegal (by their own By Laws) voting. The Southern Party of Texas gratefully accepted this disaffiliation negating the need for such to be initiated by Texas.

July 26, 2000
E-mail from Madison Cook to Vance Beaudreau, subject: Federation of States Meeting.
It was learned that the National Convention that Madison was helping to set up the Southern Independence Party that was not to be sponsored by the Federation of States, but instead by Madison=s choice, the SPA. (Madison Cook people apparently and noted from their attitudes against the Federation of States).
Convention schedule for the first Federation of States National Convention was sent for July 27, 2000. See D:\Federation of States\FS Convention Schedule 2000.wpd

July 29, 2000
Presentation speech of 45 minutes near the end of the SPA Convention on behalf of the Federation of States by Vance Beaudreau.
Discussions were held with several persons afterwards including Dr. Michael Hill, Mike Crane, Chris Chamberlin, Dr. Timothy Wyatt and later a meeting with Madison Cook and his wife. A complete Federation of States notebook with the plans for the Southern Independence Party organization was supplied to Dr. Hill, another to Mike Crane and a third to Madison Cook. In a two hour meeting with Madison Cook, he tried to convince me against the Council of State Chairmen of the Federation of States. He opted for informal conventions of the various States.(It was clear to me that Madison felt he could control these conventions, but was loath to join the Council where he would only have one vote along with the other State chairmen.)

The attack upon the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 brought a temporary halt to most of the recruiting effort for the Restoration of the Confederacy due to the patriotic reaction of the American people for the U.S. Military to attack and defeat the enemy who had done this.
The War against Iraq, however, was not as favorably viewed by the public.
