Dear Mr. Walker,

You set out your belief in the first sentence; and excellently stated too. If you would grant me leave that I may be so bold, I would like to show you where you may have somewhat misunderstand the agendas at work, today.

Do you consider yourself a Southern “Nationalist” because you favor a strong federal central government? Or are you simply expressing a desire for the South to come together as the Confederate States of America, again, in the vein of the Confederacy of the united States our founding fathers gave us? Nationalism and sovereign States are mutually exclusive. Nationalism is the epitome of strong central somewhat monarchist type of government. It is also a propaganda tool to enflame the masses to support the unsupportable or more innocently a cry to define the patriotic desire of a people to regain their sovereignty as a nation from some conqueror.

You state that Southern Nationalism swept the South like wildfire. This, in my opinion, is a misreading of our Confederate ancestors beliefs. They were incensed that the Nationalist North had the audacity to invade sovereign Southern States. Had the South been “Nationalistic,” as you suggest, there would have been no reluctance, or outright refusal, to turn out all available Militias and war supplies to the central government.  What swept the Southland after Yankee invasion was the desire to save their homeland, their families and their State’s Rights (Sovereignty), not, as you have assumed, Nationalism.

True, the Confederates were defending the constitution ratified in 1781 as rewritten and ratified in 1789, as they read and understood it. They even recognized some glaring failings of the Constitution of the united States and made a few improving changes in the Constitution of the Confederate States of America. One item stands out as a beacon in that, it precludes an office holder from succeeding himself in the same office, in other words, term limits.

I deliberately didn’t name a specific group in the hopes those involved and even in charge would see the error in their thinking. You can rest assured that those identified factions exist in every Southron organization. We have one member, of my SCV camp running for office as a Republican and is proud as punch to be a part of the “winning” Federalist  team.  Is winning so important we are blind to the results of winning, even on an evil team?  Does obtaining some measure of power justify the means to an end?

The government of the Confederacy’s restoration is the only route available to us. The CSA government never surrendered. The various Confederate Armies never surrendered the government because it was not within their jurisdictional power to do so. The CSA is still legally very much alive but dormant because its offices are un-staffed. The fact that States seceded, but were marched back into the union, at the point of a bayonet, did not negate their secession. Those States are still in a seceded status, whether the government of the United States wants to admit it or not and in spite of an overlaid Federal satellite State condition they find themselves in. A coerced membership in a union is no membership at all. Militarily appointed governors and legislatures do not make binding agreements for citizens.

I believe I am doing everything, within my power, to defend my country, the CSA, and provide the leadership necessary to see the restoration of the Confederacy. Texas has always stood with her sister States and Georgia is no exception. You have a fine political party in Georgia, The Southern Party of Georgia, Chaired by Mr. Mike Crane who has done a great job for the South and the Confederacy. Mr. Crane is running for State office today. Are you supporting him?

We, in the Texas SIP working with the Federation of States, are working to form the SIP in all Southron States not already so organized. We need the support and leadership of all Southrons to regain our rightful place within the world of Nations.

I see no benefit to reinventing the wheel. We have had enough of that. It is time to put the wheel on the hub and get the vehicle moving properly. Are you a moving force for the SNC or what is its agenda?

I noted the following quote, “At the first Congress, a staff will be selected to act when the Congress is out of session.” This smells, mightily like the SNC of the old Southern Party.

Who are the people who arranged this and who are directing it?  Why is there no mention of the Confederate States of America on their Web site?  Are they trying to develop a new Southern Nation with Southern culture, but a highly centralized style of government alien to a Confederacy?  What is the proposed agenda for the first gathering of the SNC and where can I find it?  We support other Confederate groups and conventions when we are convinced that they are moving us towards the dream of a Grand Confederacy of the United States of America as envisioned by our great anti-federalist forefathers.

Perhaps you and I are on nearly the same page and semantics and the meaning of words have confused us.  If that is the case that would be great.
