CONFEDERATE APOLOGISTS
APPEASEMENT, POLITICAL CORRECTNESS AND LIBERALIZATION OF CONFEDERATE VALUES INFECT SEVERAL CONFEDERATE ORGANIZATIONS
Federation of States - - June 16, 2004
False, Fake or Counterfeit and Lukewarm, Quasi Confederates that are found in several Confederate organizations come from several different sources and can be identified by their traits. A cleansing is needed. Quasi-Confederates are found, for example, in some Chapters of the League of the South and in some Camps of the SCV. At the same time the SCV and the League of the South have solid REAL Confederates as members also. Both of those organizations are great and fundamentally crucial to our movement to preserve and restore our Southern Nation but, they need cleansing of the false, lukewarm and politically correct members who border on civil Treason with their liberalization of their units because of their examples and statements. This includes several of the leaders who have risen politically without real Confederate Restoration intentions. They would turn the organizations into profitable and publically acceptable clubs while using the protecting of their Federal IRS status as a pretended excuse. We can classify certain types:
1. Nostalgic Dreamers of the Past (history buffs).
2. Political opportunists.
3. U.S. Patriots
4. Professors of Academia
5. Enemy infiltrators and disruptors.
6. Federal Government Agents.
7. Interested new members or prospects.
8. Hard Core Real Confederates
1. Nostalgic Dreamers of the Past (history buffs). They are simply well meaning politically correct men who like the nostalgia of the old history of the battles and bits of glory of the short lived Southern Nation, the Confederate States of America, and who have found some ancestral tie to that era. Some in this category are reinactors. They like dreaming of the past as they image it to have been, and perhaps a chance to play soldier, but when confronted with anything real, at present, tend to shy away due to political correctness (a communist mind set ploy). They are especially interested in folks knowing that they are good patriotic Americans first and foremost and try to prove this by pledging allegiance to the Federal Union of the United States, saluting the Union flag and singing the Star Spangled Banner.
Apparently, most of these men seem not to know or care about how repugnant this is to true confederates as it suggests mental treason and a complete lack of dedication to the real reasons for the Confederacy of our forefathers of 1776 and 1861 which was local rule and State’s Rights with State Sovereignty protected while such States worked together in a cooperative manner in a Confederacy of State Republics. They certainly did not join to work for the restoration of the Confederacy. That idea scares them. Such men need to shut up, sit down and listen and try to learn real history and the establishment of freedom. If their political correctness or corporate connections are too greatly threatened, they need to depart sooner rather than later. Gideon in the old testament is worth reading. In Judges 7:1-22, in particular, and Judges 8:10 we learn some lessons from Gideon. The LORD GOD had Gideon send most of his troops home.
2. Political opportunists. These men perhaps also belong to civic organizations like the Lions Club, etc. and see the SCV or the League of the South as a possible base for their political ambitions and otherwise have no real confederate feelings but had ancestors that qualified them for SCV membership. These men are usually also quite politically correct and may be apologetic about their SCV membership or even about secession and the historic efforts of the Confederate States of America. There is a difference in political correctness and being politically cautious. The first show lack of personal thought in the acceptance of societal pressure or a lack of courage of their inner and supposed confederate convictions and the other shows careful thought to avoid offending possible future supporters of themselves. Of course there is nothing wrong with members of the SCV or the League of the South seeking political office, especially if they stay loyal to confederate interests once elected. There is plenty wrong with desertion of confederate principles once elected as that smacks of political treason and is at least a double cross. They didn’t join to try to restore the Confederacy, but to further their own private interests.
3. U.S. Patriots. These are misguided men who have ancestors that qualified them to join the SCV or some other confederate organization. These men are often Veterans of the U.S. Armed forces and really are much more loyal to the Federal Union of the United States (Corporation of the United States of Washington, D.C.) than they are Confederates. They may enjoy the fellowship socially, but are quick to defend the Union and are even apologetic about the Confederacy. They like to claim they are Patriotic as if Confederate Americans are not. They hope to help keep the organization from becoming radical or truly confederate; keep it on track with its 501(c)(3) IRS recognition for history and heritage. These men do not have a Confederate vision of the future.
4. Professors of Academia are often found in some of the worst chapters or camps and found near large universities where professors of academia find it fun to belong, but are so hopelessly reconstructed that they are useless fake confederates at best. Those chapters are often steeped in appeasement and apologetic attitudes concerning the Confederacy, even to the point of making statements that we are lucky that the South lost because look at the great nation we have now become. These quasi confederates are actually re-unionists. There are exceptions to such pompous idiots, but pier pressure from the academic world is heavy, of co-existence with the United States and opt for policies and programs of appeasement or that furthers re-union. Such men as these in this category really should join the Sons of Union Veterans (SUV).
5. Enemy infiltrators and disruptors. There are also a few infiltrators from various dangerous anti-American organizations such as the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), the Anti Defamation League (ADL) and even possible Communist party or Fascist organizations, all who hate things confederate and join to cause trouble and dissension to derail any real success. These are usually paid infiltrators.
6. Federal Government Agents. These men are observers, mainly, who pay their dues and never miss a meeting. They usually do not seek leadership roles, but do participate in events. These men are not just reporting on activities, as they may also be attempting to develop evidence for possible indictments against some of the members, especially in the light of the new Patriot Act. Most of these men are unaware that they work for a Fascist corporatist police state. These, of course, are counterfeit confederates
7. Interested Learners. Learning members or prospective members are the life blood of any organization. We must teach them true history in regards to the South and hope they will become active and be true Confederates. The re-education of new or prospective members is crucial and must not be weak-kneed or reconstructionist if the SCV is to remain true to its charge shown below:
“To you, Sons of Confederate Veterans, we will commit the vindication of the cause for which we fought. To your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate soldier’s good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles* which he loved and which you love also, and those ideals which made him glorious and which you also cherish.”
*Keeping government close to home and maintaining State’s Rights for a Confederacy of Sovereign State Republics offering peace and maximum freedom to the citizens thereof as intended by our founding fathers of 1776 and again in 1861.
8. Hard Core Real Confederates. These men remember the admonition of our President Jefferson Davis when the collapse of the exhausted Confederate Nation was at hand:
“The principle for which we contend is bound to reassert itself, though
it may be at another time and in another form.”
Who is a true Confederate?
by Robert McMullen
Recently, Clint Lacy, myself, and DI Editor Terry Compton withdrew from the Rebel Alliance. I will speak here for myself only, and will let Clint and Terry speak for themselves.
The heart of the matter is this: '"Who is a true Confederate?" The matter is simple. A TRUE Confederate believes:
1. The Confederacy still exists. It is a sovereign nation. The secession was lawful and still stands.
2. The goal of the "Southern Movement" is to liberate our country from foreign occupation forces and restore our full Independence. The offices of the Confederate government are currently vacant due to enemy occupation.
3. The Confederacy is a CHRISTIAN NATION. A true Confederate is a CHRISTIAN. Our Lord, Savior, and model is Jesus Christ. Two of our main earthly heros and models are General Robert E. Lee and General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson, because they embody the Christian virtues and principles for which the Confederacy stands.
If you do not believe the above criteria, you are not a true Confederate, period. Accordingly, no Confederate can, by definition, be a Republican or Democrat, or a member of any other U.S. political party. It is NOT our government, and it's flag is NOT our flag.
Being involved in "heritage preservation", or defending the Battle Flag, does not necessarily make one a Confederate.
Confederates are not liberals or conservatives, but are RADICALS [activists for freedom] in as Patrick Henry, or Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson. Confederates are CHRISTIAN men and women, and the Confederacy is a CHRISTIAN NATION.
I am not interested in compromise. It diverts our attention from the real issue, and drains our energy. I regard compromise as representing either ignorance or outright infiltration of the movement by enemy agents with the goal of dividing us and sapping our energy on "dead end" projects designed to demoralize and defeat us. If this costs the movement numbers, then I say we do not need such people in the movement anyway as they do more harm than good. We must stand by our motto, "Dio Vindice". We do our duty, and the consequences are God's. We must totally trust in His Providence and Vindication, even when overcome in a particular engagement. How ironic it is that some Southerners now place their faith in the very political Party responsible for waging war against us. The Republican party destroyed both the United States and the Confederacy, and we live under a defacto dictatorship today because of that Party. If you think they will now save us, you are living under a "strong delusion". A true Confederate belongs in a Confederate political party, NOT a U.S. political party.
